Dr. Eleanor Rolnick
"Dr. Ellie", as she is fondly known by her patients, is a 1979 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri. Her personal health issues as a teenager inspired her to pursue Chiropractic as a career. Finding relief for debilitating menstrual cramps as well as headaches and fatigue convinced her of the body’s ability to heal itself if nerve interference is removed. Her goal upon entering Chiropractic School was to help as many people as possible to feel and function as good as she did after her first few months of Chiropractic care. She began her practice in Biddeford soon after graduation in February of 1980 and continues to make that goal a reality.
Dr. Ellie specializes in gentle, low-force, instrument assisted adjusting techniques. She is Advanced Proficiency Rated with Activator Methods and also has advanced training in Neuromechanical Methods and Torque Release techniques. Most recently she has begun using KST (Koren Specific Technique) and studying brain based wellness to help her practice members reach their optimum potential. When needed she also councils her patients on nutrition, exercise, and rehabilitation. She is past president of the Maine Chiropractic Association (MCA) and is currently a member of the MCA as well as the International Chiropractic Association and the Legion of Chiropractic. Originally from Bangor, her love of the ocean drew her to Southern Maine. She is married to Ben Caron, co-owner of “Caron Brothers, Fine Homes By Design”. They have 2 sons.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Ellie can often be found leading a choir or singing in one. She is the Choir Director at The Unitarian Universalist Church of Saco and Biddeford. She is the music director of Harbour Singers, whose mission is to offer the gift of song to individuals at end of life. Dr. Ellie is an avid student of the martial arts and has studied Shaolin Kempo Karate, Jiu Jitsu and T’ai Chi at Villari’s of Biddeford since 1996. She loves spending time with her family, playing with her dogs, exercising, reading, playing the piano and writing music.
Pam has been with Rolnick Chiropractic for over 29 years. She and her then 5-year old son began care here in 1983. We were thrilled that she decided she wanted to work in a Chiropractic office. Pam has worked in almost every possible capacity in the office. Currently she holds the front desk Chiropractic Assistant position as well as heads the Billing Department. She is a Certified Clinical Chiropractic Assistant (C.C.C.A.) and is registered with the State of Maine. She has attended many post graduate programs and continues to increase her knowledge to better serve our patients. She is a past president of the Maine Chiropractic Assistants Association. She also held the vice-president position.
Pam and her husband, Dick, have been married for 39 years. They have one son and a daughter-in-law. In her spare time, Pam enjoys traveling, especially cruising, reading, watching movies, exercising, shopping and being with friends and family. She is also a member of the Biddeford 50 + Club. Pam is an avid Red Sox fan.
Cynthia Doolittle was referred to our practice by a friend who was a patient and convinced her that Dr. Ellie could relieve Cynthia's neck issues. Dr. Ellie and her staff opened a door, and now Cynthia not only can turn her head from side to side, but can feel the healing spirit this office generates. In fact, Cynthia likes the positive aura of the office so much, she joins the staff once a week to help tend to miscellaneous needs that arise on a busy day.
Prior to moving to Maine for retirement, Cynthia and her husband, Dan, lived in southern Connnecticut. Her professional career included teaching pre-school age children and working in the children's room of their local library. Cynthia and Dan have two daughters, two granddaughters and grandson. She especially enjoys our office because she also has the opportunity to interface with other patients. When she's not at work here, she writes, hikes, reads, volunteers at church, Laudholm Farm and tries to keep up with her family and friends.
Meet the Office Canines: Aria and Poco
Aria & Poco are yellow Labrador Retrievers. They are cousins, born just a few days apart in August 2013. Aria is redder and darker than Poco. At first it seemed that just one would be the office dog and the other would spend the day with Dr. Ellie's husband on the job site. Over time we've discovered they each have their talents and strengths in spending time at the office. They alternate days in the office.
Most people are surprised at how young they are and how well behaved. Most of the time they will not jump unless you invite them. Poco will usually greet you with a very waggy tail. Aria is more cautious and may welcome you with a bark. They are both still learning but are very smart and very affectionate. Much of the day they spend relaxing somewhere in the adjusting room.
We ask that you not feed them any treats. They are both on specialized diets and Poco is very allergic to many things.
